Yes, MunuhzMind was a prototype of TotMind Schools
Someone recently approached me and said:
“I’ve seen many great initiatives you’ve started… unfortunately, not many have stood. What happened to MunuhzMind?”
Here’s the truth I shared.
The Sad Reality About Building in Africa
Building anything from the ground up in Africa is one of the hardest things you can do. We face challenges at every corner; lack of resources, limited support, and sometimes even people who should be cheering you on quietly hoping you fail.
(That’s a story for another day.)
Building something meaningful, like TotMind Schools, requires a lot.
Yes, money isn’t the first thing a business needs, but you still need money, and a lot of it.
And the biggest reason many of us fail is simple:
We don’t get the chance to fall.
Yet real success requires more falling than succeeding.
That’s why Silicon Valley is special. They give people many chances to fail—and fail again—because they understand that by the time you succeed, it’s not luck; it’s because you were shaped for it.
Why Prototypes Matter
Creating something substantial requires the freedom to try, fail, rebuild, break things, isolate yourself when needed, and sacrifice when necessary.
But without money and resources, even failing becomes a privilege.
I knew the goal clearly, but the path was uncertain. So I used other projects as testing grounds as opportunities to fall, learn, grow, and refine the vision.
Redea, Kugker, RIDS…
Each one was an opportunity to test ideas, to experiment, to break things safely, and then move on stronger.
And when MunuhzMind came, my wife and I understood exactly what it was:
another prototype-one step closer to the final product.
I told her:
it would be the last major prototype.
We built the backend, the frontend, the app, the premium learning experience, the speed, everything. It was our “final rehearsal.”
For anyone wondering what a prototype really is:
A prototype is a simple early version of something; like a product, app, or system, created to test ideas and see what works before building the final version.
Now TotMind is Here
Africa is beautiful, but it comes with too many problems—and those problems require too many solutions. But every challenge has shaped us.
And now, TotMind Schools is ready.
Lives are being transformed, opportunities created, and dreams brought within reach.
One day, we shall tell the full story - the entire journey.
But for now, just know this:
- Every fall had a purpose.
- Every prototype had a lesson.
- And every lesson brought TotMind to life.
More than Ready to Prepare them for Tomorrow
