Words That Reflect Christ
π Colossians 3:17 (NKJV)
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
My Dear Children,
God desires that our words reflect the character of Christ. The Bible teaches that everything we say should honor the Lord. Our speech should show kindness, truth, patience, and gratitude.
Jesus also said in Matthew 12:36 that people will give account for every careless word they speak. This reminds us that words matter greatly in Godβs sight.
Luke 6:45 explains that βout of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.β This means our words reveal what is inside our hearts. When our hearts are filled with Godβs truth and love, our speech will naturally reflect it.
Relevance to Life and Family
In families, the way we speak to one another shows what lives in our hearts. When parents and children speak respectfully and gratefully, the home becomes peaceful and joyful.
A family that allows Christ to guide their hearts will also allow Him to guide their words.
Family Reflection
What do our words reveal about our hearts?
How can we make sure our speech honors Christ?
What changes can we make to ensure our words reflect gratitude and kindness?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, guide our hearts so that our words reflect Your character. Help our family speak with kindness, truth, and gratitude. May everything we say bring honor to You. In Jesusβ name, Amen.
