The Attitude of Contentment
π Philippians 4:11 (NKJV)
β¦for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.
My Dear Children,
Contentment is learning to be satisfied with what God has given us. It does not mean we stop growing or working hard, but it means we are not restless or complaining about what we do not have.
Paul explains that contentment is something he learned. It does not come automatically. It grows as we trust God more.
1 Timothy 6:6 reminds us that βgodliness with contentment is great gain.β When we are content, we find peace and freedom from comparison.
Hebrews 13:5 also teaches us to be content because God is always with us. His presence is greater than anything we may feel we are missing.
Relevance to Life and Family
Children may compare themselves with others at school. Parents may compare lifestyles or progress. But contentment helps families focus on what God has provided instead of what is lacking.
A content home is a peaceful home.
