Speaking Words That Build

πŸ“– Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV)

β€œLet no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”

My Dear Children,
God calls us to use our words to build others up, not to tear them down. The Bible teaches that our speech should be helpful, encouraging, and full of grace. Words that build strengthen hearts and relationships.

Proverbs 16:24 tells us that β€œpleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.” Kind and thoughtful speech can bring comfort and healing.

Colossians 4:6 also reminds us, β€œLet your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt.” This means our words should be wise, respectful, and uplifting.

Relevance to Life and Family
At home, children and parents speak to each other many times every day. These daily conversations shape the atmosphere of the family. When words are respectful and encouraging, the home becomes a place of peace and growth.

Families that practice speaking with grace help each member feel valued and supported.

Family Reflection
What kinds of words build others up?
How can we stop harmful words before they leave our mouths?
What encouraging words can we say to someone in our family today?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, guide our family to speak words that strengthen and encourage. Help us avoid harmful speech and fill our conversations with grace and kindness. May our words bring life and peace to everyone around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
