Life and Death in the Tongue

πŸ“– Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV)

β€œDeath and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

My Dear Children,
God teaches us that words are powerful. They are not small or harmless. The tongue can bring life, encouragement, and healing. It can also bring pain, division, and destruction.

James 3:5 reminds us that the tongue is small, yet it boasts great things. Just as a small spark can start a large fire, a few careless words can cause great harm.

Words shape homes. They shape children. They shape relationships.

Relevance to Life and Family
At home, words can either build confidence or damage it. A harsh word may be remembered for years. A kind word may strengthen someone for life.

A family that understands the power of words becomes careful in speech.

Family Reflection
Have our words brought life or hurt recently?
Why does God say the tongue carries such power?
What kind of fruit do we want from our speech?

Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach our family to use our words wisely. Help us speak life, encouragement, and truth. Guard our tongues from harm and fill our mouths with goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
