Learning to Listen to God

πŸ“– Isaiah 30:21 (NKJV)
β€œYour ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, β€˜This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”

My Dear Children,
God is not silent. He desires to guide His children every day. The Bible teaches us that God speaks to direct our steps, helping us know which way to go. Learning to listen to God begins with a willing heart and a quiet spirit.

Listening to God means paying attention to His Word, His guidance, and the gentle conviction of the Holy Spirit. When we listen, God helps us make wise decisions and avoid paths that lead to harm.

Relevance to Life and Family
Children hear many voices today, from friends, media, and the world around them. Families play an important role in helping children learn to recognize God’s voice through prayer and Scripture; (Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" Β Psalm 119:105.)

When families listen to God together, they grow in unity and confidence in His leading.

Family Reflection
How does God speak to us according to the Bible?
What can distract us from listening to God?
How can our family create time to listen to God each day?

Enjoy the song to the end, it has a great message. God bless you and have a beautiful day.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach our family to listen to Your voice. Help us quiet our hearts and follow Your guidance in every decision we make. Lead us in the right path and keep us rooted in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God speaks to us in different ways, but we often fail to listen.

Nature speaks, yet we ignore it and call it a distraction. When the sun rises, it does not simply mean it is daytime and time to wake up and go to work. No, the voice of the sun means God has granted you access to another day. Use it wisely. Plan well. Live well today for tomorrow.

Appreciate this granted day. Be happy. Help where help is needed. Trust God. Do not worry about what you will eatβ€”only trust your Maker, the One who created the sun to rise and to set. The sunrise is a reflection of new beginnings. Yesterday may have been a failure, but try again today and you will make it. This is one of the ways God speaks to usβ€”through nature.

God also speaks through challenges.

You may have trusted your own strength and failed. You may have trusted your friends, family, boss, money, or even your knowledgeβ€”and it still failed. Now it is God’s turn to be trusted.

God speaks through His Word every single moment, but we ignore it.

That is why we fail in life and end up accusing God of being unjust.

These are the things that distract us from listening to God’s voice:

Problemsβ€”yes, problems speak volumes. The devil speaks loudly. Media and the internet speak volumes. Our minds, our hearts, and the people around us speak loudly. But the greatest distraction is our past πŸ˜β€”it speaks volumes and leaves no room for listening to God.

Our families can create time to listen to God by making Him the number one priority.

If we choose to make Him number one Priority, everything else that tries to speak will come last. Then we will have room to listen to God every day. Before challenges speak, let His Word speak first. Before the past speaks, let His Word speak first.

This is very insightful! You’ve highlighted how God speaks in many waysβ€”through nature, challenges, and His Wordβ€”but we often get distracted. Making Him our priority allows us to truly listen, trust, and live each day with purpose. Truly inspiring!
