π Day 7: Self-Control β Guided by Godβs Spirit
π Proverbs 25:28 (NKJV) β βWhoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.β
My Loved Ones,
My dear children, this verse paints a strong picture: a person without self-control is like a city with its walls broken down β open to anything that wants to come in.
In Bible times, city walls protected people from danger. In the same way, self-control protects our hearts and minds from wrong choices and hurtful words.
When we let the Holy Spirit guide us, He helps us pause, pray, and choose whatβs right instead of reacting quickly. πΏ
The Bible reminds us that βthe spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weakβ (Matthew 26:41), so we must ask God daily to help us stay strong.
And in 2 Timothy 1:7, weβre told that God gives us βa spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.β That sound mind is what helps us practice self-control.
Relevance to Life and Family:
At home, itβs easy to lose control β to get angry, argue, or give up. But every time we stop, breathe, and pray before reacting, we build stronger walls of wisdom and peace. π§±
When we practice self-control as a family, we speak kindly, forgive quickly, and make good decisions together. π
Family Reflection:
- When is it hardest to have self-control β at school, at home, or with friends?
- How can we ask God to help us make good choices in those moments?
- Why is self-control important for keeping peace in our family?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for helping us grow in wisdom. ππΎ
Teach us to control our thoughts, words, and actions.
When we feel angry or tempted, remind us to stop, pray, and follow Your Spirit.
Let Your peace guide us to live wisely and lovingly each day.
In Jesusβ name, Amen. π
Day 6 Here.
